At 1/ST Technology, innovation drives us to create dynamic digital experiences in the horse racing and gaming industry. We are currently seeking a Terminal Technician to work at Laurel Race Track.

Base Work Location – Position is based onsite at Laurel Race Track and Pimlico - Local Area Candidates Only

Employer: AmTote International, Inc.

Openings: 1 Full-Time Permanent position

Location: Primary - Maryland Jockey Club, 198 Laurel Race Track Road, Laurel, MD 20725 - First 2-3 weeks

Secondary - Pimlico Race Course, 5201 Park Heights Ave., Baltimore, MD 21215 (4 weeks in May and other days occasionally)

Standard Schedule: Report to Laurel 4 days and Pimlico 1 day a week

Home Base: Laurel Race Track

Industry: Gaming Industry/Race Tracks - Computer Software, Entertainment

Experience: 0-1 years preferred *** Will Train – no experience necessary ***

Position: Full-Time Permanent Position w/benefits

Union Dues: $39.02 bi-weekly – IBEW Local 1501 Union

Probationary Pd: 6 Months

Hourly: $16.19 per hour to start

Union Increases: 1st Year $17.27 and 2nd Year $18.34 and 3rd Year $19.36

Benefits: 90 Day Waiting Period after you become a Permanent Employee

Work Schedule: Hours Vary - including holidays and weekends – typically Wednesday - Sunday

Summary

Provides on-site, hands-on technical ability and operating skills required to maintain AmTote's wagering equipment, ensuring efficient and satisfactory service to the customer, working in a live and non-live racing environment.

Responsibilities

• Assists with repair and operations of wagering system and/or all other peripheral equipment or systems associated with AmTote's service.
• Troubleshoots and repairs all equipment associated with AmTote's service.
• Constructive interaction with AmTote customers and co-workers in a high-pressure environment, geared towards all aspects of AmTote service operations.
• Deals with customer issues with tickets or equipment.
• Follow AmTote safety procedures
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• 0-6 months experience preferred but not required.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Good understanding of PC operating systems.
• Basic mechanical knowledge.
• Good understanding of basic electrical principles and circuitry.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Physical ability to lift and carry 50 pounds, and to sit and/or stand for long periods of time.

Education

High School or Trade School preferred.
