Chemical Operator - $23-$34/Hour

Integrity Trade Services is hiring a  Chemical Operator for a chemical manufacturer for the food and beverage industry, starting at $23/hour, based on experience. Receive comprehensive benefits through ITS upon hire!

Responsibilities:
It is the Operator’s responsibility to lead and direct activities to ensure that the processes and products meet or exceed company/customer expectations in quality and cost.

• Maintains operation within established standards for quality, labor, maintenance, yields, safety, and housekeeping.
• Utilizes Statistical Process control Methods in the evaluation and decision making relating to process operations.
• Performs related activities such as securing supplies, performing QC, chemical, and physical property tests, making necessary adjustment and minor repair to obtain quality production, keeping work area and equipment clean, maintaining and updating log reports and other files, and checking operation and packaging work to assure that specifications are met.
• Coordinates with powder packaging department.
• Performs hands-on operation of chemical process and equipment.
• Operates special purpose equipment such as agitated reactors, rotary vacuum filters, plate and frame filters, spray dryers, powder transfer and collection equipment, air compressors and packaging machines, as well at R.O. water systems.
• Review reports, log sheets, and operating charts, make adjustments as needed.
• Follow and Carryout GMP, SQF, and Food Safety policies. Report any deviations to management.
• Other duties as assigned.

Location:  Jeffersonville, IN

Schedule/Shift Details

• Rotating Schedule (3 days one week, 4 days the next)
• 7:00am-7:00pm/7:00pm-7:00am (Rotates every 9 weeks)
• Will train on 1st Shift (Monday-Friday: 7:00am-3:30pm)

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED
• Prefer three or more years of experience as a Chemical Process Operator or powder material handling and powder packaging work.
• Must be comfortable with heavy work. Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Must have steel-toe shoes.
• Must be comfortable wearing respiratory protection, as needed.
• Must maintain good housekeeping practices.
