Summary
The Construction Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing bid procurement, project schedules, quality, project close-outs, and safety adherence for awarded construction and maintenance projects in the telecommunications industry. The selected individual will be expected to maintain a working knowledge of vendor contracts, customer contracts, and customer expectations related to telecommunications construction and maintenance projects.
A major component of the selected individuals role includes managing subcontractor and material supplier resources as well as coordinating and managing project schedules, maintaining benchmark goals, and reviewing & compiling project close-outs to ensure client satisfaction, project continuity and the timely delivery of services. The Construction Project Manager will also be expected to function as a liaison between internal engineering teams, contractors, and field resources, capable of adjusting on the fly to unforeseen site conditions or design changes necessitated by observed site conditions.
Positional Responsibilities The position is responsible for coordinating with department leadership ensuring all associated project goals are realized. Anticipated tasks include but are not limited to:
Ensure scope of work and project specifications are in compliance with subcontractor proposals, timelines, project budgets and safety considerations
Solicit, compile, and review project pricing proposals
Select qualified subcontractors based on performance, budget, and client timeline priorities
Provide day-to-day project direction, ensuring quality standards, project tracking, and progress evaluations of assigned projects, both internally and externally
Oversee construction and maintenance, including quality assurance and safety related site visits as dictated/required by individual project scope and/or internal protocols
Track and coordinates material deliveries and material compliance with fabrication & design drawings
Drive project completion to meet schedule and budget expectations
Ensure daily jobsite safety plans are reviewed and followed, and stop work when unsafe work practices or conditions exist
Compile and deliver project Close-Out Packages
Must be able to maintain and manage sub-contractor relationships
Prepare regular progress, project status and problem resolution reports regarding status of construction projects and update internally and externally accordingly
Ensure document control, database accuracy, and tracks project activities and communication to ensure project goals are accomplished.
Facilitate meetings with client representatives, safety officials, local agencies, and other employees to maintain effective working relationships
Manage job site safety and safety practices to meet Client, OSHA, federal, state, local, site specific, and Delta Oaks safety requirements
Track and evaluate, escalating as necessary, all invoices, change order requests and subcontractor progress/final payment requests
Due to the nature and limited timelines of most projects, the selected individual should be willing and capable of exhibiting the work ethic and social ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment where communication with co-workers and strategic partners is paramount.
Computer Software Experience - In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel are required
- Competency in Construction Project Management Systems is preferred
Required Experience and Supplementary Skills Minimum of two (2) years of experience in the Telecom Industry with expanded levels of responsibility including a demonstrated proficiency in:
- Estimating
- Scheduling
- Budgeting/cost control
- Field supervision
- Safety Compliance
Experience managing construction and maintenance associated with macro sites and wireless macro site upgrades preferred
OSHA 30-Hour course training preferred
Ability to safely navigate conditions present at a construction site, including climbing ladders, cluttered areas, working in bad weather, hazardous areas, dark conditions, and maneuvering uneven surfaces etc. for purpose of inspecting progress
Competency in Construction Project Management Systems including GanttProject is preferred
Demonstrated ability to read engineering design drawings, construction drawings and material fabrication/certification data sheets
Project management skills

Problem solving skills (identify, analyze, research, evaluate, resolve)
Knowledge of tower reinforcement/erection and tower construction and maintenance practices
Knowledge of tower hardware and components (including bolted and welded connections)
Proficiency with interpreting design drawings regarding spatial relationships of various telecommunications infrastructure
Working knowledge and thorough familiarity with codes and standards relating to telecommunication structures, including TIA/EIA-222 requirements
Education Bachelor of Science in a Construction Management Program, Engineering Program or equivalent work experience is required.

He/She should have strong interpersonal skills, as this position requires interacting with fellow co-workers and employees on a daily basis. The selected individual should also be willing/capable of expanding construction, management, and industry knowledge base via training and self-performance.
